With the virus still ravaging many parts of the world, both countries need to prevent case importation and domestic resurgence. Committed to building a community with a shared future for mankind, China will work with Thailand and the rest of the world to support WHO in doing its job more effectively, promote international cooperation against the pandemic, step up collaboration on the research and development (R&D) of drugs and vaccines, and contribute to global public health.

Xi called on the two sides to seek greater complementarity between the Belt and Road Initiative and Thailand's development strategies such as Thailand 4.0 and the Eastern Economic Corridor, and to advance cooperation in e-commerce and other new fields. All this will help strengthen the China-Thailand comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Xi also expressed China's readiness to work with Thailand for greater unity and cooperation and sustained development and prosperity in the region.

Prayut reaffirmed Thailand's one-China policy and firm support for China's efforts to defend its core interests. In the context of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Thailand is keen to deepen bilateral friendship with China, enhance their cooperation on trade, innovation, poverty reduction and the Belt and Road Initiative, with a view to upgrading the comprehensive strategic partnership.
