|Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary Meets with Wang Yi|
On July 12, 2019 local time, Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary met with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Budapest.
Viktor Orban asked Wang Yi to convey his warm greetings to Chinese leaders. He expressed, Hungary and China are real strategic partners with strong political mutual trust. The two countries have been actively pushing forward the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative, with stable progress being made in the construction of Hungary-Serbia railway project. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relationship. Hungary can truly feel the valuable and important friendship and trust through the twists and turns in the past 70 years. The Hungarian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to carry forward the traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation, and promote new progress in bilateral relations, cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) as well as in China-Europe relations.
Wang Yi conveyed the sincere greetings of Chinese leaders to Viktor Orban. Wang Yi expressed, since the establishment of diplomatic relationship 70 years ago, China and Hungary have always respected, supported and trusted each other. Hungary stands on principle and values credibility and has increasingly become an important force in regional and international affairs. Against an international backdrop full of challenges, the two countries should continue to firmly support each other on issues concerning respective core interests and major concerns, give full play to the leading advantages of the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative, continue to expand cooperation in various fields and constantly increase shared interests. We are willing to work with the Hungarian side to strengthen communication and coordination in China-CEEC cooperation, China-Europe relations as well as multilateral affairs, continuously enhance the strategic significance of bilateral relations, and jointly safeguard fairness, justice and peaceful development in the world.
