|Consul General Duan Jielong attends launching ceremony of "China-Australia Desert Adventure"|
On August 25, 2012, Consul General Duan Jielong attended the launching ceremony of the "China-Australia Desert Adventure". Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr also spoke at the ceremony.
The Adventure was co-organized by Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Australia China Friendship and Exchange Association and the Kinggold Group to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Australia. More than 20 adventurers and media representatives were present at the ceremony held in Bondi Beach, Sydney.
Mr. Duan spoke highly of the Adventure and said it will further promote people-to-people exchanges and build good momentum for friendship between the two peoples.
Foreign Minister Carr expressed his best wishes for the Adventure. He said bilateral cooperations in the field of trade, education and tourism had been very fruitful, and Australia welcomes investment from China.
The adventurers will explore the largest inland desert cluster in Australia as well as the highest desert in the world, the Kumukuli Desert in China.
