At the invitation of Lord Mayor Cr Alan Pendleton, Deputy Consul General Liu Kan recently attended and addressed the Opening Ceremony of the Chinese Garden in Blacktown.
Mr. Liu extended congratulations on the completion of the Chinese Garden and sincere thanks to everyone for their diligent effort in preparation. He also briefed the councilors and local residents on the current China-Australia relations. He stressed that the completion of the Blacktown Chinese Garden was a symbol of friendship between the peoples of the two cities, two countries; also an important achievement of local and civil exchanges between China and Australia. Liaocheng City and Blacktown are sister cities, he hopes both sides could take the tenth anniversary as an opportunity to further expand pragmatic exchanges in economy, trade, culture, education, tourism.
The Chinese Garden , locates in the Nurrigingy Reserve, is designed by the Liaocheng City and built by Blacktown.
