|Consul General Duan Jielong Called on Speaker of NSW Legislative Assembly|
On May 31, Consul General Duan Jielong paid his first official call on Ms. Shelly Hancock, Speaker of NSW Legislative Assembly.
Mr. Duan warmly congratulated Ms. Hancock on her assumption of office. He highlighted the mutually beneficial relationship between China and the state of NSW, noting that the recent visit by Mr. Jia Qinglin, Chairman of CPPCC, has brought new opportunities for the development of bilateral relations. He said the Consulate General will continue to work with the NSW Legislative Assembly to push forward friendly exchanges between legislative bodies in China and Australia. The Consul General invited Ms. Hancock to visit China.
Ms. Hancock appreciated Mr. Duan's call early in his term as the Consul General. She said that she has friendly feelings about China and the Chinese people, and will always support the strengthening of comprehensive and cooperative relationship between NSW and China. She wished to visit China in her new role as the Speaker soon.
Deputy Consul General Ji Ningfeng attended the meeting.
