Consul General Hu Shan Pays Courtesy Call to Lord Mayor of Sydney

On December 12, Consul General Hu Shan paid a courtesy call to Clover Moore MP, Lord Mayor of the city of Sydney. The two held friendly talks on relations between China and Australia, cooperation between sister cities and Sydney’s upcoming events celebrating Chinese Spring Festival.

Consul General Hu said he would devote all his efforts to the development of China-Australian relationship and promoting the cooperation between China and Sydney with continuous support from the Council of Sydney.

Ms. Moore warmly welcomed Mr. Hu to Sydney and made briefed introductions about the city’s program to celebrate Chinese New Year Festival. She said the City of Sydney was dedicated to enhancing good relations with China and looking forward to developing closer ties with its sister city Guangzhou.

Mr. Hu said he was happy to see that Sydney’s cultural celebration of Chinese New Year had become an important event of Sydney. He appreciated Ms. Moore’s dedication to making sure the celebrations a success and pledged the Consulate-General’s support on his part.
