Pre-Departure Testing Requirements for Non-Chinese Citizens (13 November 2022)

In order to reduce cross border transmission of COVID-19, you are kindly required to read and follow the pre-departure testing requirements which apply to non-Chinese citizens from 13 November 2022.

1. Only ONE PCR test is required for ALL passengers within 48 hours (2 calendar days) before your flight taking off for Chinese mainland.

If your Chinese mainland-bound flight is on Wednesday 16 November, PCR test on Monday 14 November is recommended.

2. PCR test can be done at any clinics listed on the NSW Health website:

https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/covid-19/Pages/clinics.aspx

Please make sure in advance you can obtain a formal traveler PCR report. SMS messages or doctor certificate are not accepted.

3. Non-Chinese citizens apply for the health code via http://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/

Please prepare the images of the following documents beforehand:

(1)  A traveller PCR test report (with yourname, dateofbirth, passportnumber, collectiondate, testsiteandnegativeresult printed);

(2)  Flight itinerary (from Sydney to a city of Chinese mainland with your name, flight number & date printed);

(3)  Passport photo page (showing yourname,dateofbirth,passportnumber);

(4)  A valid Chinese visa or residence permit;

4. No additional requirements apply to passengers with an infection history, suspected symptoms or close contacts as long as the PRC test returns negative. Primary review andPersonal Health Monitoring Formsare no longer required.

Important Reminders

• If you go to Chinese mainland taking a connecting flight, you can choose to get tested either in NSW or in the transit place. Please make sure the collection time is within 48 hours before your final leg.

• The health code is only used when your final destination is Chinese mainland. If you go to or transit in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR or Taiwan province, please consult airlines or competent authorities in advance.

• Health code application must be lodged prior to 10pm the day before departure.

• Get tested and obtain the health code early to avoid the airport panic.

• Your test result may be verified by airlines before check-in. Bring them with you.

• Airlines may have other conditions before the check-in such as a temperature checking.

• Take all protective measures before and during the trip. Reduce social contact and avoid dining out, shopping or gathering before the travel.
