|Consul General Li Huaxin Visited Hurstville|
On 23 August, Consul General Li Huaxin visited Hurstville at the invitation of Councillor Jack Jacovou, Mayor of Hurstville.
Consul General Li said it is a great pleasure to visit Hurstville, which is one of the major settlements of Chinese communities in Australia. He appreciated that Hurstville City Council is committed to develop sister-city relationship with Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, actively promotes people-to-people and cultural exchanges and attaches importance to uphold the interests of local Chinese communities. He expressed that the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney is willing to maintain close connections with Hurstville to unswervingly promote the friendly cooperation between China and Australia at local levels.
Mayor Jacovou, Councillor Nancy Liu and General Manager Victor Lampe welcomed Mr. Li to the City and briefed the Consul General on the economic and social development of Hurstville and the situation of local Chinese communities. Mayor Jacovou said that he stands ready to work with the Chinese side to further deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation.
